Dr. Markus Rick, DVM, PhD

Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Markus Rick, DVM, PhD, serves as the CEO of DiaSys USA. With a German Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a PhD from Michigan State University, Dr. Rick brings a wealth of academic and practical expertise to the helm.

With over two decades of dedicated service in the veterinary diagnostics field, Dr. Rick's journey includes serving as the Chief Technology Officer at DiaSys USA and as an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Rick is highly skilled in tailoring clinical chemistry assays to meet the unique veterinary diagnostic needs of DiaSys USA's broad, international client base. He provides visionary leadership, and strategic planning, and fosters a culture of innovation within the company. His expertise ensures the continued success and growth of DiaSys USA.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Rick finds joy in exploring the world through travel and indulging his passion for automotive engineering.

Frank Pickard

Senior Director of Business Development
Frank Pickard serves as the Senior Director of Business Development at DiaSys Diagnostic Systems, USA. With a degree in Business Administration from the University of Memphis and 40 years of experience in medical capital equipment sales, Frank brings extensive expertise and strategic vision to his role.

Frank excels in market analysis and strategy development, identifying opportunities and trends to expand market presence. He is adept at building strategic partnerships and alliances, driving sales initiatives, and managing key client relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

A seasoned leader, Frank has a proven track record in hiring, training, and managing top-producing sales teams. He collaborates closely with marketing and product development teams to enhance brand visibility and inform product innovation. His commitment to excellence and continuous improvement has been instrumental in driving revenue growth and ensuring the success of DiaSys USA's business development efforts.

Dr. Murray Rosenthal, PhD

Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs

Dr. Murray Rosenthal, PhD, is the Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs at DiaSys USA. He holds a BA from Case Western Reserve University and both an MS and PhD from the University of Akron. With over 48 years of experience in the in vitro diagnostic (IVD) and medical device industry, Dr. Rosenthal brings unparalleled expertise and a distinguished track record to his role.

Dr. Rosenthal has spearheaded numerous FDA 510(k) registrations for new medical devices, including the pioneering the first de novo FDA registration of an IVD product. His career includes significant roles including Director of Assay Development, Senior Clinical Chemist, Director of Reagent Sciences, and Senior Engineer II. He is also the co-inventor of the first commercial Hemoglobin A1c test and the developer of the first commercial direct LDL cholesterol assay.

Highly skilled in FDA compliance, quality and regulatory approvals, technology transfer, reagent chemistry, and newborn screening, Dr. Rosenthal's contributions have been instrumental in advancing diagnostic technologies and ensuring regulatory adherence.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Rosenthal is committed to environmental stewardship. He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for both the Ann Arbor/Washtenaw 2030 District and Solar Faithful, non-profits dedicated to promoting sustainable practices.

Timothy Deem

Manager of Finance & Business Administration

Timothy Deem serves as the Manager of Finance & Business Administration at DiaSys USA. With over a decade of experience in business management and a history of overseeing more than 50 employees in his previous role, Tim brings a wealth of expertise to his position.

At DiaSys USA, Tim oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. He ensures accurate financial records, monitors budget performance, and identifies cost-saving opportunities. His strategic decision-making supports the company’s financial planning and growth.

Tim also manages administrative functions such as office management, procurement, and vendor relations. He leads and mentors the finance and administration team, fostering continuous improvement.

During his leisure time, Tim enjoys spending quality time with his son.

Ruby Paredes, MT

Manager of Technical & Customer Support

Ruby Paredes, MT, is the Manager of Technical & Customer Support at DiaSys USA. With a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics from Michigan State University and over 15 years of experience as a Medical Technologist, Ruby brings extensive expertise to her role.

Ruby has held prominent positions in one of the largest veterinary laboratories in the country and co-founded a successful in-home veterinary service. At DiaSys USA, she oversees technical support, ensuring prompt resolution of customer inquiries and issues. She manages the creation of technical documentation, leads a team of support representatives, and coordinates service calls and maintenance.

Outside of work, Ruby enjoys spending time with her husband, Silvino, and their two daughters, Elianah and Gianna.
